There are some brands I have been lucky enough to have long-term relationships; Simply Be USA is one of them. They kindly sent me styles to wear when I first started on social media. They gave me gift certificates to give away when I had 10,000 followers – a number that many brands would turn away. When I had a hard time finding extended plus size clothes to fit me, I could always turn to Simply Be USA. They have dressed my soul happy and, as an influencer, helped me to serve YOU. I have shopped them with my own money since 2011. So when the team at Simply Be USA shared the news that they were rebranding, I was happy to share the updates with you in this sponsored post done in partnership with them.
Here’s the scoop: after years in the U.S market (six, to be exact) Simply Be USA is launching a major rebrand, ditching the catalogs (paper catalogs… ‘member those?) and going totally digital by the end of 2018. Catering to the shopping habits of younger customers, those in their teens through early 30’s — or at least those young of spirit and closet *coughcoughLIKEME* — Simply Be USA is breaking out a new look in for their marketing and making all their campaign videos, images and Instagram posts, totally shoppable.
The new campaigns are featuring Sarina Nowak, Natalie Nootenboom and model and social media star La’Tecia Thomas; I personally admit I have “fangirled” over La’Tecia a zillion times. Like. Woh….
Another thing I’d like to point out, is that Simply Be USA has expanded their size range, to dress women from size 8 – 28. Personally, I think this is a badass choice. I’m a fan of inclusivity, and I hope more clothing brands will start serving a larger size range of shoppers.
According to Richard Storer, U.S. Vice President of Marketing for N Brown Group, Simply Be USA has “a responsibility to empower women and this comes in many different forms, but first and foremost we are a fashion brand so our new image is an assertive step away from the often-vanilla campaign images hitherto used in the US curve market. These images convey confidence, sass, verve, sex appeal and energy and beautiful curves in a more editorial manner.”
What does that mean for you? First thing is, that Simply Be USA is launching this next chapter and their new U.S. initiatives with a handful of special collections. The first up is a collection of Athleisurewear debuting this month; April will bring about a curated collection of festival-inspired wear. The Athleisurewear is totally exclusive to the U.S. and features comfy sweat-inspired tops, track-style pants and shorts, and even an electric blue trapeze dress that looks built for ease and comfort.
Next thing to know, is that Simply Be USA plans to do a series of pop-up shop experiences this summer, starting in New York. Yesssssss! Shopping in-person? Love it! At the pop-ups, we’ll be able to touch, try on, and experience Simply Be USA styles, which will then be sent in the mail directly to customers.
Lastly, and this is the big thing, you’ll probably be noticing a change in the brand visuals. From what I’ve seen, the new Simply Be USA campaigns are aiming to be edgier, and working to give customers, what Storer calls, that authentic “new-now-next” that the customers are looking for these days.
And now for the fun part…. Here are just a few of my favorite snaps from the new Simply Be USA campaigns!
And as far as some of my personal pics go? Here are a few styles I can’t wait to sport this season. Hey.. Simply Be USA.. Hook me up! #KiddingNotReallyKidding
